Presenting The 2008 Tournament Club

The Woodlands Golf & Country Club is pleased to present the 2008 Tournament Schedule and 2008 Tournament Club Program.  The Tournament Club Program has been an overwhelming success and The Professional Staff and Members at the Woodlands have been coming up with ideas that will help continue to Maximize Tournament Participation.  After much thought and many hours of deliberation, the Woodlands Golf & Country Club is offering each member a chance to join, The 2008 Tournament Club which will once again prove to be a true win-win situation for the “Tournament Player,” and the club itself.   Thanks to many of your creative ideas and suggestions last year, we have been able to come up with rather diverse Tournament Schedule for 2008.  The program will attempt to address the interests and demands of the majority of our members.

We have tried to avoid all conflicts, including SCGA events, USC and Clemson Football games, and USGA Qualifying Tournaments.  The dates of the tournaments are subject to change, however, we do not anticipate more than one or two changes.  The tournament formats vary from fun to competitive, and we will award gross and net prizes (if applicable) in most events

The annual membership fee for The 2008 Tournament Club Fee for Men will be $195.00 and can be billed in three installments of $65.00 over your February, March, and April club statements.  The 2008 Tournament Club Fee for Ladies will be $165.00 and can be billed in three installments of $55.00 over your February, March, and April club statements. Additional Family Members (children only) may be added for $120.00 each.  Your membership in the Tournament Club entitles you to participate in 10 Woodlands Golf & Country Club events at no charge other than the cart fee.  In conjunction with designated events, complimentary meals, along with some other goodies before and/or after the tournaments will be included in the Tournament Club Membership Fee.  In addition, men will also receive a $50.00 discount for the Member-Member Tournament, and all Tournament Club members will receive a $10.00 discount for each of the Pick Your Pro Events, and a $15.00 discount for the Sadie Hawkins and Couples Championship.

Another bonus of being a member of the Tournament Club will be the opportunity and competition to become a member of one of the two “Ruby Cup” teams that will participate in The 3rd Annual Ruby Cup Matches in October.  All Tournament Club Members will receive 50 Ruby Cup Bonus Points for joining The Tournament Club.  The Professional Staff will be keeping track of “Money” and “Points” leaders throughout the year.  You will receive participation points for each event in which you participate and you will also be able to earn competition points based on your finishes in the tournaments.  This event was a huge success in 2007 and will be a very special weekend of golf for all of those that make the 2008 teams.

New for 2008 is the Tournament of Champions that will be played the Saturday before the Par 3 Tournament in December.  Winners from designated Tournaments will earn the right to compete in this year-end finale.

It is easy to see that even if you happen to miss a couple of events along the way, it is still a great investment!  More importantly, being a member of the Tournament Club will give you the opportunity meet new friends and playing partners.

The MGA (Men’s Golf Association) will still sponsor 4 events in 2008.  The MGA will contribute to the purses in the One Day Member-Guest Tournament in April, The MGA Fall Invitational in October, The Buster Tournament in December, and sponsor the MGA Golf Trip in August.

The LGA will also still host 4 events in 2008.  The LGA Kick-Off Tournament in March, The LGA Member-Member Tournament in April, The LGA Member Guest in September, and The LGA Round-Up Tournament in November.

The staff at the Woodlands Golf & Country Club is extremely excited about the upcoming season/tournament schedule and hope you will choose to participate in this worthwhile program.  With your help, we will continue to build on the tremendous success the club has experienced in the past.  We sincerely welcome any input you may have regarding the Tournament Program and we look forward to a great year in 2008.
