2011 LGA Round-Up Tournament
The LGA Closed out their tournament season with the LGA Round-Up on Sunday, October 16th. The format for the event was three-person captain’s choice.
Sandy Forbes continued her hot play from the previous weekend as she led the team of herself, Cheryl Munn and Betsy Duffy to victory. The trio posted a score of 1-under par 71, to edge out a one shot victory over the team of Debbie Allen, Annette Krasky and Fran Miolen. Debbie Richard, Cindy Keating and Carol Owens played great as well, but finished in third place with a score of 73.
2011 LGA Member-Guest Tournament
The LGA Member-Guest Tournament was played on Saturday, September 10th.
The festivities for the event actually got underway on Friday Evening,
September 9th, as the participants gathered for a putting contest, par 3
shoot-out and LGA Member-Guest Party.
A
great time was had by all and after a hard night of partying, the
players got a short-night’s sleep and got up early on Saturday for The
Member-Guest Tournament.
We
used two different formats for the event – Modified Alternate Shot on
holes # 1-9 and Best Ball on holes # 10-18. The weather was wonderful
for the event and the scores were extremely close.
In
the battle for the Overall Gross Title, Debbie Allen and Carol Truslow
set the pace with a great score of 76 and edged out Suzann Bartley and
Regina Watts who fired a great score of 78 to finish in second place.
Natalie Huff and Lynn Humprey posted a respectable score of 80 and
finished in 3rd place. 
Over
on the Net side, Marty Broadnax and Gina Hansen led the way, posting a
score of 64 to capture the Overall Net Title by one shot over two other
teams.
The
team of Patti Melotte and Doris Zimmerman and the team of Annette
Krasky and Sandy Tamburo both shot 65, but Patti and Doris won second
place based on the tie-breaker.
We
would like to congratulate all of our winners and thank everyone who
participated in the 2011 Member-Guest Tournament. We would also like to
thank Suzann Bartley, Natalie Huff, and the rest of the LGA
Member-Guest committee for a job well done.

Play Days
We will have established tee times on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. If you are unable to play on these days or we will not have a scheduled Saturday Play Day in conflict with a Tournament Club event, you may play on any day Tuesday through Sunday with another LGA member to record a play day round. If a Tournament Club event has you putting out and playing with another LGA member, you may keep a second score card and submit that as your Play Day round for the week. All cards must be turned in by Close of Business Tuesday of each week. Only one score per week will be posted for Play Day statistics. In the event duplicate cards are submitted, the earlier of the two will be used for the Play Day statistics. All cards must be filled out completely and legibly. Only two players per card with a separate line for putts. All cards must be dated, signed, and attested. Any exceptions will be rejected.
Birdie Tree
This year we will post the Birdie Tree. Julie Snider has been so kind to volunteer to pull the Birdie Tree together. Each player with a birdie in any Play Day round will earn a Birdie on the Birdie Tree. More details will follow on how to record your Birdies on the Birdie Tree.
Ringer Board
This year we will also post a Ringer Board. At the beginning of the season, each member will fill out the Ringer Board score card to forecast their score for each hole of the course. As we play throughout the season, each time you improve on your hole score, you will need to adjust your Ringer Board score.
Wednesday & Saturday Morning LGA Play
For Wednesday play, all players must be signed up by noon Tuesday. For Saturday play, all players must be signed up by noon Thursday. All pairings will be made randomly by the pro shop. We will play the Saturday Play Days in conjunction with the Pick Your Pro events, but not with other Tournament Club event formats. LGA Catfights may be used as your Play Day score.
Wednesday play begins March 23rd with approximately 9:30 am tee times. Saturday play beginning March 19th with approximately 11:00am tee times.
Finances
The annual membership dues will remain at $30 per person and are due by the end of March 2011. Please make your checks payable to The Woodlands LGA. You may give your check to Natalie Huff or place it in the box in the locker room.
Putts
We will continue collecting pennies for our putts. Dianne Lekovish will track these with the Play Day statistics. All amounts owed shall be due at the October 2011 LGA meeting.
In the past, all proceeds have been donated to various organization for the benefit of Junior Golf. If anyone has any special recommendations for specification organizations, or connection/contact with these organizations - please see Natalie Huff.
LGA Tournaments
We will need volunteers to host each of these outings.
